Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak advocates for rescinding burdensome energy regulations
By rescinding these rules, we can unleash the full potential of American energy
Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) sent a letter to President-elect Donald J. Trump and Governor Doug Burgum, the nominee for Secretary of the Department of the Interior, urging immediate action to roll back the Biden Administration’s restrictive energy regulations. The letter outlines 20 specific federal regulations that have crushed American energy producers, raised costs for families, weakened our national security, and hindered clean, responsible energy development.
KEY LETER EXCERPTS:
“I am grateful for your America First leadership and your proposed creation of a National Energy Council to help usher in a new era of American energy dominance. The outgoing Biden Administration has attacked our resilient energy producers at every angle, creating a mountain of federal regulations that directly target affordable, reliable energy from coal, oil, and natural gas. Their efforts leave our nation’s energy industry in a vulnerable position with nearly two-thirds of our nation in jeopardy of not having enough power to meet demand today.”
[...]
“For the thousands of hard working North Dakotans employed in the energy industry—men and women who show up every day and earn an honest wage providing the energy that fuels our nation—American energy dominance means much more. It means that they will be able to support their families and local communities, all while contributing to our nation’s revitalization. North Dakota energy workers have been continually overlooked by the Biden Administration’s out-of-touch regulations—and they’re ready for the federal government to get out of their way and allow them to do what they do best.
“By rescinding the following 20 regulations, you will invest in Americans and our ability to responsibly develop the natural resources we have been blessed with for the benefit of our people and others throughout the world.”
The regulations identified in the letter include:
- The EPA’s Clean Power Plan 2.0, which threatens energy reliability
- Excessive methane emissions rules that are crushing oil and gas operators
- Federal rules limiting energy production on public lands, such as the Bureau of Land Management's Resource Management Plan for North Dakota
These and other rules targeted for repeal have placed undue burdens on energy producers, increased costs for Americans across the board, and weakened the reliability of the nation’s energy grid. Additionally, the Biden administration’s actions have hindered the development of clean, responsible American energy production—the cleanest energy in the world.
