Tribal Relations

North Dakota shares geography with five sovereign Tribal Nations, each with a unique history, culture, and government. As federally recognized tribes, they have a nation-to-nation relationship with the United States, and our federal government must uphold its trust and treaty responsibilities.
I am committed to strengthening government-to-government relationships and building partnerships that respect tribal sovereignty and promote the well-being of Native communities. This includes advocating for policies that improve access to quality education, healthcare, and public safety services. My approach is rooted in open communication, collaboration, and a sincere commitment to listening and working alongside tribal leaders to advance meaningful solutions.
