National Defense and Security
America’s military is the backbone of our national security, protecting our families and safeguarding our freedoms. A strong, well-equipped force is essential to defending against threats at home and abroad. North Dakota plays a critical role in this mission, home to two Air Force bases in Grand Forks and Minot, a Space Force station in Cavalier, and the nationally renowned North Dakota National Guard and Air Guard. These installations are at the forefront of our nation’s nuclear deterrence, intelligence gathering, and defense operations.
In Congress, my priority is supporting our servicemen and women with the tools, training, and resources they need to be safe, strong and effective defending our nation at home and abroad.
At the same time, we must stand firm with our allies. A secure Israel means a more secure America, and my commitment to supporting Israel’s safety and stability is unwavering. Meanwhile, the U.S. faces a diverse range of threats. Russia’s war in Ukraine, China’s aggressive push towards increasing ballistic stockpiles, and Iran’s relentless advancement towards nuclearization directly threaten the security of every American. We must be prepared at all times and under any circumstance to defeat any adversary that terrorizes people around the world.
