My first month in Congress
Dear Friend,
Welcome to my newsletter, where I will keep you updated on everything I’m doing as your representative in Washington D.C. You’ll receive these newsletters regularly and if you’d like additional updates, please sign up for my press releases! My first month in Congress has been educational, eventful and productive! It’s a true honor to be your representative.
Below are the highlights of the first few weeks.
As always,
Julie

On January 3rd, I was sworn in to represent the hardworking and independent people of North Dakota. Over 90 members of my family came to town for my swearing in, including 6 of my siblings!

Taking the oath of office to represent our great state is the opportunity of a lifetime. I’m committed to bringing North Dakota’s values and priorities to Washington and embodying the fresh energy that D.C. desperately needs.

I was honored to attend the historic inauguration of President Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. He is already delivering on his commitments. His swift actions prioritize the safety, prosperity, and independence of the American people.
I'm especially encouraged that President Trump declared a national energy emergency. I know energy producers in North Dakota are ready to lead the way in fueling our nation’s future. Click here to read my full statement.

The inauguration of North Dakota’s 34th Governor, my friend and predecessor Kelly Armstrong, was an epic party and grand kickoff to another era of strong, principled leadership in our dynamic state! I look forward to working with Governor Armstrong to advance the voices and priorities of North Dakotans in Washington.

- Introduced my first resolution to honor the Bison faithful on winning their 10th national championship in 14 years. Talk about dominance!
- Spoke out against the Bureau of Land Management’s new Resource Management Plan to lock up millions of acres of oil, gas, and coal leases in North Dakota. We need to unleash energy production, not shut it down.
- Attended my first Energy and Commerce Full Committee hearing where I’ll bring my years of energy experience as North Dakota’s Public Service Commissioner to work alongside my colleagues and solve problems affecting energy, health care, environment, technology, data privacy, broadband, and much more.

- Sent a letter to President Trump and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum urging them to rescind the Biden administration's energy regulations. We must unleash American energy and make America energy dominant again!
- Reviewed the EPA’s chemical regulations at my first E&C Environment Subcommittee Hearing.
- Penned an op-ed supporting Doug Burgum, our former Governor, for Secretary of the Interior. I can’t think of anyone better for the role! His track record in North Dakota shows he’s the right leader at the right time for this critical role.
- Gave my first speech on the House floor in support of unleashing energy production in North Dakota.

- Voted and spoke on the House Floor in support of legislation to prohibit men from participating in women’s sports.
- Voted in support of the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act.
- Attended the Laken Riley Act bill signing ceremony at the White House, legislation I was proud to support.
- Voted in support of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and joined various pro-life events, including visiting with more than 300 students from North Dakota.

- The Energy Progress & Innovation Conference (EPIC)
- The Mayor of Washburn
- Coal Creek Station
- Lignite Energy Council
- The Morton County Sheriff
- The Burleigh County Sheriff's Office
- The Mayor of Mandan
- 30+ members of the long-term care community
