At the Energy Progress & Innovation Conference (EPIC), Rep. Fedorchak highlighted North Dakota’s leadership in energy innovation and the importance of maintaining an affordable, reliable, and resilient grid.

At her meeting with the Mayor of Washburn, Fedorchak discussed the city’s economic development efforts, energy infrastructure, and local priorities including expanding childcare and affordable housing.

Congresswoman Fedorchak toured Coal Creek Station and the Rainbow Energy Park, one of the premier energy destinations in the country that employs nearly 200 North Dakotans. The power plant transmits energy across 400 miles and helps provide power to more than 1.7 million people. Discussions focused on federal and state regulations, the role of data centers and cryptocurrency, grid reliability, and an all-of-the-above energy strategy to support North Dakota’s energy future. Lignite Energy Council hosted a roundtable discussion for Rep. Fedorchak with members to discuss federal energy regulations, grid security, and the exciting opportunities for North Dakota’s lignite industry.

In her meeting with the Morton County Sheriff, law enforcement highlighted staffing and resource needs and opportunities to improve coordination between federal, state, and local agencies for the safety and security of North Dakota’s communities.

Kelly Leben, Burleigh County Sheriff, and his team expressed strong support for the decisive action of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after a recent car of illegal immigrants was pulled over in Bismarck by law enforcement. The Sherrif’s team said it’s a big step forward for safety to have ICE & Customs and Border Protection (CBP) enforcing the immigration laws the way they are intended and have been enforced for the last 40 years, except for the last four.

Mandan Mayor James Froelich and City Administrator Jim Neubauer outlined funding needs for critical local infrastructure projects such as a new water treatment plant and a fire station. The discussion also focused on supporting Mandan’s growth and enhancing public safety through federal resources.

On Friday afternoon, the congresswoman held a statewide roundtable discussion with more than 30 members of the long-term care community. The roundtable focused on key issues facing the long-term care industry, including workforce challenges, access to quality care, funding needs, and regulatory concerns.
