Fedorchak’s first 100 days in Congress

April 14, 2025

Bismarck, ND – Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) is marking her first 100 days in office by highlighting key wins for North Dakota’s energy producers, families, and agricultural communities. Since taking office in January, Fedorchak has focused on advancing commonsense policies that cut red tape, support American energy, and reflect the priorities of North Dakotans.

“We hit the ground running,” Fedorchak said. “In just 100 days, we’ve made real progress cutting burdensome regulations, promoting American energy, and delivering results for the people who make our state great—and we’re just getting started.”

Fedorchak has made it a priority to stay connected with constituents across the state. She has met with more than 130 North Dakota organizations, participated in radio call-in shows weekly, and held her first statewide telephone town hall, engaging with more than 3,000 North Dakotans on a range of issues.

On energy, Fedorchak has been a consistent advocate for North Dakota producers. She cosponsored a resolution to repeal President Biden’s punitive methane tax on petroleum and natural gas producers—a measure that was signed into law by President Trump—and introduced a resolution to repeal the burdensome “Once-In-Always-In” rule that punishes businesses for reducing emissions. She also launched a new AI & Energy Working Group to power the future of AI. Fedorchak’s first speech on the House Floor focused on unleashing domestic energy production and she also hosted a Special Order on the House Floor dedicated to educating her colleagues about the serious reliability challenges our nation faces. She is leading and supporting multiple measures to strengthen grid reliability and roll back Biden-era regulations that exacerbate reliability challenges, impede energy development, and increase costs.

In support of North Dakota’s farmers and ranchers, Fedorchak is pushing House Leadership to pass the Farm Bill as soon as possible. She hosted a virtual roundtable with House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson (R-PA) and North Dakota agriculture leaders to discuss Farm Bill priorities—such as strengthening crop insurance, raising reference prices, boosting funding for export programs, and increasing research funding. She has also met with President Trump’s trade team twice to discuss the impact of tariffs on North Dakota’s economy and advocated for fair trade policies that level the playing field and benefit producers, manufacturers, and Main Street businesses.

Fedorchak is also leading on issues impacting land use and property rights. She introduced the North Dakota Trust Lands Completion Act with Senators Hoeven and Cramer to promote responsible development of state-owned lands and minerals. She also teamed up with Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY) to introduce the Landowner Easement Rights Act, which would prohibit the Department of the Interior from entering into new conservation easements lasting more than 30 years and allow landowners to renegotiate, renew, or buy back existing easements at fair market value. Fedorchak has also spoken out against the Bureau of Land Management’s proposed Resource Management Plan that, if not reversed, will prevent the leasing of millions of acres of public and privately held oil, gas, and coal mineral rights in North Dakota.

On national security, Fedorchak is supporting solutions to restore order at the border and improve safety in our communities. She voted in favor of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which mandates proof of U.S. citizenship for federal elections—a standard long upheld in North Dakota. She visited the U.S.-Mexico border to talk with law enforcement, border personnel, community leaders, and business owners to understand the complications and consequences of President Biden’s negligence at the border and the associated crisis. Fedorchak voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act (now law), the HALT Fentanyl Act, the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act, and the Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act. Fedorchak also backed legislation to protect women’s sports and supported the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

Fedorchak was a deciding vote on the conservative House budget resolution that lays the foundation for President Trump’s key priorities including securing the border, unleashing domestic energy, lowering taxes for all Americans, and cutting wasteful government spending. She attended President Trump’s joint address to Congress, visited the White House several times, and invited the president to North Dakota to meet with farmers, ranchers, and energy producers.

“Every day my team and I are focused on solving problems for North Dakota citizens and delivering policy solutions. This is just the beginning,” Fedorchak concluded.

Check out below for a full list of 100-day accomplishments, including meeting with 130+ North Dakota groups and leaders:

DELIVERING FOR NORTH DAKOTA:

  • Addressed the North Dakota Legislature to highlight pressing issues in Washington and how North Dakota can lead the way in solving them, including providing the much-needed power to fuel the AI revolution.

  • Introduced the Landowner Easement Rights Act with Rep. Hageman (R-WY) which would prohibit the Department of Interior (DOI) from entering into new conservation easements exceeding 30 years and empower landowners to renegotiate terms, renew agreements, or buy back conservation easements at fair market value.

  • Voted in favor of H.R. 22, the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which mandates uniform proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration in federal elections, a standard that mirrors the effective practices long upheld in North Dakota.

  • Voted for the DETERRENT ACT to protect American higher education from foreign adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

  • Introduced a resolution with Senators Cramer and Hoeven to rename the Casselton Post Office after Commander Delbert Olson, who served our country in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

UNLEASHING AMERICAN ENERGY:

  • Sent a letter to President Trump and Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum urging them to rescind the Biden administration's energy regulations. Six of these were overturned by the EPA.

  • Introduced the Ending Intermittent Energy Subsidies Act, common-sense legislation to responsibly phase out production and investment tax credits for wind and solar energy over the next five years.

  • Hosted a Special Order on the House Floor to sound the alarm on the rising threats to American energy reliability and offer five solutions to restore grid reliability.

  • Launched an AI & Energy Working Group to bring together legislators and industry leaders to establish a legislative framework to reliably, affordably, and sustainably fuel the AI revolution.

  • Introduced a resolution to repeal the Biden administration’s burdensome ‘Once-In-Always-In’ rule that discourages innovation and punishes businesses for reducing emissions. Click here to watch her speech on the House Floor.

  • Introduced H.Res. 290, a resolution that recognizes the urgent and growing threats to the reliability of America’s electric grid and warns that the premature shutdown of reliable baseload power sources—such as coal and natural gas—without dependable replacements is putting the nation at risk of energy shortages, higher costs, and weakened security.

  • Voted to overturn three extreme Biden regulations that put radical ideology ahead of American energy security and manufacturing jobs.

  • Cosponsored and voted for H.R. 26, the Protecting American Energy Production Act, to safeguard affordable, reliable, and environmentally sustainable energy production in the United States. Click here to read her full statement.

KEEPING OUR COMMUNITIES SAFE:

  • Visited the White House and invited President Trump to come to North Dakota to meet with our energy producers, farmers, and small business owners.

  • Advanced H.R. 1968, the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. This measure funds our military, social service programs, and federal government while Republicans continue working to improve energy policy, eliminate red tape, secure the border, and cut wasteful spending.

REINING IN BUREAUCRATIC OVERREACH:

  • Voted in favor of legislation to help Congress overturn multiple last-minute regulations issued by the Biden administration more quickly.

  • Spoke out against the regulatory state on the House Floor, highlighting it’s past time to put power back where it belongs, with the American people.

  • Voted to overturn two crushing energy efficiency regulations on refrigeration equipment that impose unrealistic standards and increase costs for small businesses and customers. Click here to watch her floor speech.

ICYMI:

  • President Trump’s EPA rolled back 31 burdensome regulations. Eliminating these regulations is great news for North Dakota’s energy producers and farmers and was high on her list of priorities since being elected. In fact, she urged elimination of many of these regulations in her first letter to President Trump and then-Governor Burgum.

  • Issued a Request For Information (RFI) to gather information from the nation’s biggest players in the energy and AI industry as part of her AI and Energy Working Group to help develop a legislative framework to eliminate the barriers and promote the investment needed to power this vital new technology at the speed of need.

  • Penned a branded blog for the Congressional Western Caucus to sound the alarm on America’s growing grid reliability concerns.
