Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak touts House GOP agenda delivering for women and families
“This is the House Republican agenda in action”
Washington, D.C. — In her first ten days in Congress, Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) joined House Republicans to advance three pieces of legislation that reflect the House Republican Conference’s commitment to standing up for women, children, and families. Fedorchak remains laser-focused on putting North Dakotan families first and is proud to stand with the House Republican Majority to deliver on promises made to the American people.
“This is the conservative Republican agenda in action: we’re protecting women, supporting families, and making our communities safer. We have hit the ground running with bills that put women and families front and center,” Fedorchak said. “This is just the beginning of our work. I urge the Senate to pass these bills quickly and send them to President Trump for signature.”
This week, Fedorchak voted in favor of H.R. 28, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025. The bill passed the House with a vote of 218-206, largely along party lines. “Competing in girls’ sports as a kid gave me strength, taught me resilience, and formed lifelong friendships. My experience would have been completely different if I had been forced to compete against biological males,” Fedorchak said on the House Floor. “Men simply do not belong in women’s sports, and House Republicans are leading the charge to ensure fairness for women and girls.” The bill aims to make sure women and girls have the opportunity to compete on a fair playing field by requiring schools who receive Title IX funding to recognize a person’s sex at birth.
Fedorchak also voted in favor of H.R. 30, Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, led by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC). “When it comes to illegal immigrants who cross our border and commit heinous sexual offenses, we said: enough is enough,” she added.
The bill passed by a vote of 274-145. Under this legislation, illegal aliens convicted of sex offenses or domestic violence, or those who admit to such crimes, will be deemed inadmissible to the United States. Any alien convicted of a sex offense or conspiracy to commit such an offense will face swift deportation.
Last week, Fedorchak voted in favor of H.R. 29, the Laken Riley Act. The bill will give Immigration and Customs Enforcement the tools it needs to hold illegal immigrants who commit theft and other crimes accountable.
